Kì tuyển chọn UWC năm 2010

Theo như các bạn đã biết, United World Colleges ( UWC ) là 1 tổ chức hệ thống 12 trường Thế giới liên kết, mà đặc điểm của khối trường này là sự đa dạng văn hóa và tiếp cận với các vấn đề quốc tế. Hằng năm, tổ chức này thường trao một số học bổng toàn phần cho học sinh đang học lớp 11 tại Việt Nam, thông qua sự tuyển chọn của Ủy ban các trường Thế giới liên kết tại Việt Nam, viết tắt là UWCVN. Mình vinh dự được chọn vào học tại Mahindra United World College of India vào tháng 9 năm ngoái, và thật sự qua 5 tháng học ở đây, mình đã học được rất nhiều.

Theo thông tin mình đc biết ( mà ai cũng biết rồi ) là năm nay UWC sẽ cho VN ít nhất 7 học bổng toàn phần, nhiều hơn năm ngoái

Vậy nên mình lập topic này để cho những em năm nay có ý định thi học bổng này bàn bạc để làm hồ sơ thật tốt

Ai có câu hỏi gì về quá trình làm hồ sơ/tuyển chọn hay những gì liên quan đến học bổng UWC nói riêng và UWC nói chung hãy post lên nhé, mình sẽ cố gắng trả lời những gì trong phạm vi mình biết

À, thường thì tuần sau là National Committee sẽ thông báo về kì tuyển chọn mới. Mình sẽ update những gì mới nhất lên topic này và mọi người cũng nên theo dõi thường xuyên trang web của NC UWC Việt Nam tại : http://www.uwcvn.org hoặc trang facebook.

thật không? thi đi thi đi nhỡ lại sang học cùng trường với chị

Nếu em hỏi chị là trong 6 trường nên đánh số thế nào thì thật sự chị cũng không biết. Vì mỗi trường đều có cái hay riêng của nó. Chị không biết về những trường khác, nhưng thật sự bây giờ chị cảm thấy rất may mắn khi được chọn đi India, mặc dù nhiều người phản đối

em thử tìm hiểu thông tin trường trên website xem

nice em, cứ cố gắng thôi, chị hồi trước cũng được biết học bổng này trước đúng 1 năm và sau đó thì đỗ

trong 1 năm chị nghĩ em có thể làm được rất nhiều thứ

Chị ơi, cái thư giới thiệu chúng nó cho viết bằng TV nhưng mà có người bảo tốt nhất nên viết bằng TA. Thế rút cục là nên viết TA hay TV hả chị.

@ Tigeria: thế này em nhé. Vì NC có cả ng nước ngoài lẫn ng Việt nên thư giới thiệu không cần phải quá quan trọng ngôn ngữ mà phải là ở nội dung. Nhờ những người nào quen biết em lâu, hiểu rõ về em viết, nếu người đó có thể viết TA thì cũng tốt, nhưng TViệt thì cũng không sao. Năm ngoái thư giới thiệu của ng ngoài của chị viết bằng TA, còn của giáo viên là TViệt

The United World Colleges National Committee of Vietnam (UWC Vietnam) has the honour to announce the launch of the Vietnam Intake 2010 of the United World Colleges Scholarship Program. This scholarship program is for grade 11 students to gain an International Baccalaureate degree at one of the United World Colleges in the world. Full scholarships cover tuition, room and boarding for two years at school. Otherwise indicated, full scholarships do not include travel, pocket money and medical insurance.

Scholarships available for the Vietnam Intake 2010:

Full scholarships

1. United World College of South East Asia, Singapore
Travel, pocket money and medical included
2. Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific in Canada
3. Armand Hammer United World College, USA
400 USD medical insurance
4. Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong
5. Red Cross Nordic United World College, Norway
Medical deposit required
6. United World College of Maastricht, The Netherlands
Including medical insurance
7. United World College of the Adriatic, Italia

Partial scholarships

1. Mahindra United World College of India
Student pays 44% of the scholarship value (about USD 7,500 per year) and other fees.

Requirements

1. General requirements:
• Vietnamese citizens and currently living in Vietnam
• Currently enrolling in Grade 11 at Vietnamese schools, and
• Born between January 1993 and June 1994.

2. Program requirements

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following qualities:
• Academic strengths which indicate a strong likelihood of success in the IB program.
• The ability to communicate in English.
• The ability to be a good Ambassador for Vietnam in the environment of a UWC.
• The willingness and the ability to befriend and learn from people whose ideas, beliefs and cultural backgrounds may be very different from their own.
• The ability to gain the most from the opportunity and to contribute to the college life. Relevant qualities include, but not limit to, commitment to service, openness of mind, enthusiasm, balance, good humour, the ability to thrive in a foreign environment, emotional strength, and physical fitness.
• An active contributor to the life of their school and/or wider community.
• Involvement in cultural, artistic or sporting activities.

3. Preferences

Other things being equal, preference will be given to a student who would not otherwise have access to such an experience or who would gain the most from the opportunity. Therefore, students from rural and remote areas and students from disadvantage background are encouraged to apply for this program.

Selection Process
Qualified candidates must send their completed applications by post to UWC Vietnam before Friday, April 2nd, 2010.

A number of applicants will be invited for group and individual interviews in Hanoi. Interviewees from other cities and provinces are expected to pay for their own travel costs but can stay at UWC families in Hanoi if needed. Selected applicants will be nominated by UWCVN to the relevant United World Colleges in April 2010 and the United World Colleges will confirm their acceptance to the student directly. New scholars are normally arriving at their United World Colleges in August.

Application Instruction

Filling in the form:
- Fill in the form by hands, using black ink pens.
- Use English for parts to be completed by applicants. Use Vietnamese or English for parts to be completed by other people.
- Use only spaces provided in the form.
- Letters of recommendation could be enclosed in the application in envelops sealed by the referees.
- School records should be justified with seals from schools. You can provide in separate papers or copies of your school record book (no need for notarising).

Completed applications should be sent by post to reach the UWC Vietnam at the following address before Friday April 2nd, 2010.

Interviewing:

Em năm nay học lớp 11 rùi nhé ( ps vì cái nik là 10a11 )

Năm ngoái em cũng đăng kí dự thi vì năm trong thời gian sinh của nó, em nhớ không nhầm thì lúc xuống xin mấy cái chứng nhận của nhà trường thì có 1 chị nào đấy hỏi em cũng uwc hả, không bít có phải chị không nhỉ. Năm ngoái trượt, năm nay rút ra khá nhiều kinh nghiệm, làm lại nhưng cũng chỉ cọ xát là chính chả dám mơ nhìu

.

Cho em hỏi các anh chị đi trước có kinh nghiệm chuẩn bị hồ sơ có thể chia sẻ những kinh nghiệm của anh chị khi apply dc ko ạ? Thư giới thiệu của một người ngoài trường thì nên chọn ai ạ? Có thể chọn một ng trong gia đình/họ hàng mình dc ko? (vì họ bít rõ mình nhất

Interviewees from other cities and provinces are expected to pay for their own travel costs but can stay at UWC families in Hanoi if needed. Selected applicants will be nominated by UWCVN to the relevant United World Colleges in April 2010 and the United World Colleges will confirm their acceptance to the student directly. New scholars are normally arriving at their United World Colleges in August. Use Vietnamese or English for parts to be completed by other people. - Use only spaces provided in the form. - Letters of recommendation could be enclosed in the application in envelops sealed by the referees. - School records should be justified with seals from schools. You can provide in separate papers or copies of your school record book (no need for notarising). Applying: Completed applications should be sent by post to reach the UWC Vietnam at the following address before Friday April 2nd, 2010. Năm ngoái trượt, năm nay rút ra khá nhiều kinh nghiệm, làm lại nhưng cũng chỉ cọ xát là chính chả dám mơ nhìu . Thư giới thiệu của một người ngoài trường thì nên chọn ai ạ? Có thể chọn một ng trong gia đình/họ hàng mình dc ko? (vì họ bít rõ mình nhất ) Khi có kết quả sơ tuyển mình biết bằng cách nào ạ?
