Chắc chẳng mấy ai trong chúng ta xa lạ với cái tên Queen đâu nhỉ? Một ban nhạc mà bản thân Alex coi như 1 huyền thoại vậy.
Bắt đầu hoạt động vào năm 1970, Queen có 4 thành viên: Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, và người sáng lập Brian May.
Những bài rất rất nổi tiếng của Queen mà ai cũng biết như: We will rock you, We are the champions, Bohemia rhapsody, Don't stop me now, The show must go on, This little thing called love, Tie your mother down, I want to break free, Love of my life....
Tuy chưa bao giờ chính thức tuyên bố tan rã, nhưng sau cái chết của Freddie Mercury năm 1991 và John Deacon rời khỏi nhóm sau đó, Queen với 2 thành viên vẫn thỉnh thoảng tham gia các dự án âm nhạc lớn, ví dụ như: Golden Jubilee của Queen Elizabeth II.

Hồi mới nghe Rock, không hiểu sao cũng ko thích Queen lắm, nhưng bây giờ càng nghe càng thấy ngấm và càng thấy hay. Nó không mãnh liệt đen tối như Death, không giận dữ phẫn uất như grunge, cũng không nhanh và thị trường như nu. Nó sâu xa và lắng đọng, ngọt ngào những vẫn khiến người ta dựng tóc gáy với giọng vocal có 1 không 2 của Freddie hay những đoạn guitar của Brian. Có lẽ cũng ít ban nhạc được như Queen khi trong sự nghiệp 20 năm của họ (tính đến khi Freddie mất) các thành viên không có sự thay đổi. Cả 4 thành viên đều là sáng tác chính của ban nhạc. Brian với We will rock you, Roger với A kind of magic, Deacon với I want to break free, và Freddie với 1 danh sách dài những Bohemia Rhapsody, Somebody to love, We are the champions,...
Những gì Alex biết về Queen vẫn còn rất hạn chế nên ko dám nói nhiều. Trong khi Kurt hoàn toàn bị nhấn chìm trong hố sâu của sự tuyệt vọng và lạc lõng do chính mình tạo ra thì Freddie Mercury lại là một bệnh nhân AIDS. Trong khi Kurt sáng tạo ra thứ âm nhạc nhấm nhẳng méo mó, với ngôn từ đen tối gần như đứng trên bờ vực của sự vô nghĩa và sự bế tắc thì những bài hát của Freddie nói riêng và Queen nói chung lại chứa chan niềm lạc quan yêu đời, và cái nhìn khoan dung vị tha đối với cuộc sống. Em yêu Nirvana, yêu Kurt, nhưng một năm số lần động tới bộ albums của Nirvana chỉ đếm được trên đầu ngón tay. Em chỉ nghe Nirvana khi cảm thấy bế tắc và giận dữ. Gần như ngược lại đối với Queen, em nghe Queen những khi cảm thấy yêu đời, những khi muốn cho tâm hồn mình được thả lỏng thư giãn hay những khi cần tiếp thêm niềm tin và tình yêu đối với cuộc sống. Những bản nhạc bất hủ như We Will Rock You, Made in Heaven, Friends Will be Friends, Too Much Love Will Kill You, I Want It All, We are Champions, A Kind of Magic, I Want To Break Free và đặc biệt là Bohemian Rhapsody - lần đầu tiên nghe bản nhạc này giữa đêm khuya, em đã phải thốt lên đầy kinh ngạc là tại sao lại có thể có thứ âm nhạc tuyệt vời đến như thế

Nếu cho tôi chọn một nhân vật vĩ đại nhất của làng Rock,tôi sẽ không chọn Kurt-nghệ sĩ tài hoa bạc mệnh hay John lennon-Thủ lĩnh của tứ quái The Beatles mà tôi sẽ chọn thủ lĩnh của Queen-Freedy Mercury,đơn giản thứ âm nhạc mà anh mang lại cho thế giới đã làm thay đổi suy nghĩ về Rock.AI bảo Rock là fải dữ dội,fải quằn quại trong đớn đau về thể xác và tinh thần?Có nghe những tác phẩm mà Freedy mang lại mới thấy âm nhạc của QUeen-không dữ dội mà là một thứ âm nhạc rất bác học,pha trộn lẫn chất Opera và một kỹ thuật siêu hạng.Vì vậy ta có thể thấy các tác phẩm của Queen được trau chuốt đến từng câu từng chữ,giống như giới phê bình đã nhận xét về am nhạc của Queen:Ngông cuồng,điên rồ nhưng mang phong cách quý phái như cái tên ban nhạc vậy...

Trong hàng đống album của Queen tôi lại thích nhất bài Too Much Love will kill you,một bản balad nhẹ nhàng,không uỷ mị như Love of my life nhưng mang trong nó một tình yêu mãnh liệt.Còn nhớ vào dịp tưởng niệm Freedy Mercury tại sân Wembley,Brian May cùng tất cả các ngôi sao làng Rock đã cùng hát lên ca khúc này để tưởng nhớ đến Freedy,một tượng đài bất hủ của Rock:
